I've had this guy in my stash quite some time now. He's not the 1/6th off the shelf Colonial Marine but a limited edition resin kit.
The figure is a standard BBI or Dragon doll. The armor is resin which I painted myself.
I also have a resin Pulse Rifle, Flame Thrower, Machine Gun as per Vasquez, Tracker and resin Alien face hugger.
I've painted him as a fictitious ( :-) ) Recon Trooper.

Need to get him back on the bench and finished!

Now this is one "Area" I excell in :yahoo:

Without sounding big headed there isn't much I don't know about the USCM

You've done a great job on the paint work :clapping: the Abb pad appears to be missing a bit though (between the chest armour and the abb plate ) was this in the kit or did you leave it out to make the recon version ?

This is the one I worked on a while back bases on a 1/6th version of me :D

And here was my template

Plus being a Marine means you get your own synthetic to do the knife thing when ever you see him lol

Any help you need with info or bits give me a shout

Cheers

Thanks for the info. I will have to check out the remaining parts to see if I have missed something. This kit has been languishing unfinished for about 8 years. Let me take some pics of the equipment and post them up. The recon idea is just something I made up. Thinking of having him mounted on a horse!

The part you mention isn't included with the kit
However you do get some other nice goodies :santa:

I like to keep this handy, for close encounters :sofa:

You also get the chest padlock for Hicks.

More detailed Pulse Rifle. Hey, you started this, show me everything!

I want flame units slung!

Cloth printed insignia.

Fully pose-able face hugger. Lets rock!

Hey Hicks man, you look just like I feel!

Need to strip and repaint the head.

Trackers, pdt's, sharp sticks!

It's quite a neat little kit but I just haven't had the time to do it justice.

OUTSTANDING now all we need is a Deck of Cards 8-)

There is some nice bits of kit in there thanks you for sharing your pics with me

As for the missing piece it should be easy enough to add using some black vinyl and a little bit of sewing to replicate the padded areas

I suppose it depends how much like the movie you want his gear to be as some of the cloth patches in the set are made up and never existed in the Alien Universe if your not sure which ones are movie ones I can show you pics of my BDU's as an example if you like ?

As for the extras you've got to get them screen accurate when painting they need to be done in a old humbrol colour paint "Bess Brown/Brown Bess" it's known by either name the things that need painting this colour are...

Pulse Rifle,Flame thrower,shoulder lamp,Motion Tracker,Welder,Helmet camera,Belt Tool.

If you need any pics of the full size stuff let me know and ill take some for you :)

Really looking forward to seeing how he turns out

Cheers
Coop
