Choices, choices what to build?. I've got a choice of the 1x P.1127, 1x GR.1, 3x GR.3, 2x GR.5, 2x GR.7, 1xT.10 or the FRS.1 .

I was going to to the GR.1 but the decals are unusable (ordered another set but they're currently out of stock, so I think I'll go for the GR.3 since it will be my first attempt at a Harrier and I've got two more if I make a poor job of it first time round.
Will probably be oob in the grey/green camo (don't like brush painting white   ).

No building as such done today (was never going to happen with all the 6 nations action and the start of the F1 season!!) but I did open the cellophane and wash the kit parts ready for tomorrow.

Here's some shots of the sprues, boxart and destructions.

Looks like only a little bit of flash and all parst are still attatched to the sprues, which are moulded in soft grey plastic.

Really looking forward to this one!!

Not much done today either. Primed various pieces then spent some time looking at references for cockpit colours.

Decided to go with Hu166 (light aircraft grey) for the cokpit interior and seat, Hu26 (khaki) for the seat cushion, Hu56 (aluminium) for the various engine bits), Hu24 (trainer yellow) for his life jacket, Hu 61 (flesh) for his face and hands and Hu130 (satin white) for his helmet.

Next jobs are to paint him with Hu86 (light olive) for his flying suit, Hu85 (satin black for his boots and visor and paint the top of the seat and the console Hu33 (matt black). Then it will be out with the glue and deciding which weapons to go for.

Joined the fuselage together and the wing halves.

Decided to go with the fuel tanks and rockets under the wings sowhile the glue was out I joined the relevant pieces together. Also in the pic is the pilot and seat (both still need fnishing).

Will attatch the wings and tail planes tonight and fill and sand any gaps. I will also continue painting the pilot and seat.

Yesterday I attatched the wings and the tail planes to the fuselage, then filled and sanded them.

Little bit disappointed because I haven't got the dihedral right (wings are a little too straight). I think I didn't hold them in place long enough for the glue to set fully and they moved

Also cleaned up the stores

Today I primed everything with Hu1 (primer). I'll let that dry overnight and tomorrow I'll hopefully finish painting the seat, console and rear of the cockpit Hu33 (matt black) and have them fixed in place.

Thanks to Mark I have a replacement seat so work can commence again. I'm at hospital tomorrow though and have a full weekend planned so progress probably won't be reported until Monday or Tuesday.

Only done a little bit to this since my last post. Just painted the top of the seat, the console and rear of the cockpit Hu33 (matt black). Once that has dried I'll fix the canopy tonight ready for the first coat of Hu164 (Dark Sea Grey) tomorrow.

I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Here's some pics of the Harrier primed and the cockpit masked.

Have given it the first coat of Hu164 (Dark Sea Grey) since this pic but it's a bit patchy, so I'll post a pic when I've given it a second (or possibly third) coat.

Progress is going a bit slower than I hoped due to the fact I've just been in hospital for two days (Sun and Mon) to have a central line fitted ready to start some new treatment which starts on Thursday and finishes on Friday. I have this treatment every other week and in the week in between I need to attend hospital for a check up and to get the line cleaned. Bit of a pain because it means I lose out on precious modelling time

Since my last update I've given it another two coats of Hu164 (Dark Sea Grey). I'll post pics tomorrow because it when it dries it turns a slightly more pale grey than when it's first applied.

First coat of Hu163 (Dark Green) was applied today but it's very patchy because I need to wear sunglasses over the weekend. Just means it will probably take three coats rather than two.

Looks like two coats of Hu163 was enough.

Will give it a couple of coats of clear over the next day or two then add the decals and stores.

Looks like it should be finished for the weekend.
