As I've mentioned I intend to build the New Tool Spit IX and Hurri IIc.
In the meantime I'll root about the stash and see what else I can come up with.
I believe I have a Battle somewhere....... _________________ Bubbly! |

Found it:
I'm not going to rectify all the faults but using the article and plans below I shall improve the shape as I have in the past.

This picture gives some idea of the overall shaping discrepancies:
The fuselage itself I've decided only to do work on the fin, rudder and bulk up the top of the nose as the length issue and the canopy are fine with me.
I removed the forward part of the fin to allow easier reshaping. Also the undersized kit rudder is evident from my clear plasticard backing
For a kit of it's age the cockpit interior is really quite good. All I added were the instrument decal and masking tape seat belts.
Fuselage together with fin ready for sanding:

| The wings look alot of work to correct, so what are you planning to correct? Will it just be the fin or the rudder to? |

Slightly confused ollie. If you look at the second pic in the post you can see that work on the rudder has been begun _________________ Bubbly! |

Fin and rudder complete and primed. Also note the replacement exhausts. These are suitable adapted from a Revell Hurricane II.
Work on the wings.
Below the cutting and repositioning of the upper wing trailing edge along with the notch showing the extended aileron length is shown.
Using my favourite method, a piece of clear plasticard is cemented in place and then using ballpoint pen the corrected shape is traced using the plan.
The new ailerons are removed and the kit parts, with their undersides sanded down are fixed to them. Finally some Contrail rod is attached to build up the wing area prior to filling and sanding

Finished.
The model depicts an aircraft of 300 (Polish) Sqn in August 1940. They and 301 (Polish) Sqn were the last to use the Battle in frontline operations during World War 2.

My New Tool Gustav has arrived. I thought I'd do it as a Demo Build so everyone can see the mess I make! _________________ Bubbly! |

I`ll be interested to see how much it is improved over the old one I have just completed in the D-Day GB. _________________ Roger. |
