A spy car for me!

Image

Complete with minature AMT box..

Image

Got the lower floor/hull or whatever and insides primed,it has a air cooled 6 cylinder engine - am guessing a Corvair unit?

Image

Same with the topside!

Image

The gullwing doors may or may not be hinged - depends on the fit!

Image

The engine parts and some suspension parts are being bleached and look ok.

Image

Sneaky little man I saw you sneaking in that last pic....Dammed eggs.......

Decided to use plum crazy on the bodyshell.

Image

Got the rest of the parts done too, using Alclad armoured glass on the ....glass!

Image

Then cleared it with Humbrol clear - I am not too happy with this product and will check it tomorrow, might use Alclad clear in it.....

Got the lower hull assembled and the engine fitted - that is not too detailed and I wont bother wiring it!!

Image

You just have to love the ( non existant ) engine mounts..

Image

While it looks ok....from the underside.

Image

Test fitted the windshield and door windows and they fit ok considering the roof was separate.

Image

To go with an aquatic theme I have fitted a decal on the trunk...

Image

How it looks at the moment.....

I recognize that motor. It's the car used in the later Series of Man from UNCLE.

Here's a link:

Cheers Spudgun, the thought of a fibreglass fuel tank...... :hithead:

Quote:
There is another battery located behind the passenger's seat, between the seat back and the engine bay. It is accessable by removing the seat. Piranha gas tanks are located inside the body, on the passenger's side. They are attached to the chassis, just under the black beltline, between the door opening and rear wheel. The tank is cylindrical and made of fiberglass.

Nothing wrong with a fiberglass fuel tank. My 1968 BSA 250 B25 had one. My current Aprilia has a plastic fuel tank.
