|
|
Welcome to the ATF Second Anniversary Group Build for which I am Group Build Leader. The build starts on 21st April 2008 and ends on 21st June 2008. This is the "Chat" thread for the GB and any reference material should be posted in the Reference Section. Rules for this Group Build are simple -
Anything goes as long as the kits are Airfix! So, you can make a kit OOB, bung a lot of bits from your spares box on a kit to create a really wacky machine, do a "what-if", anything!
If you wish to take part in the Group Build, you must sign on using the Usergroups link at the top of the screen (above the Log in/Log out link).
Important: Do NOT sign up as a participant of a Group Build if you only want to view the threads!
To take part in the Group Build:
Click on "Usergroups"
In the "Join a Group" section, select "Group Build - ATF Anniversary 2"
Click "View Information"
Click on "Join Group".
When your membership of the Usergroup is confirmed, you will be given your own thread in the ATF Second Anniversary Group Build Forum to post details of your build.
That's all there is to it!
If you are not sure how Group Builds work, you can read the rules here.

Anyone had any Ideas as to what they will be doing yet?
I intend to do either the Lockheed Hudson or the HS Domine
with possibly something from the decal stash _________________ http://www.funky-chicken-club.org.uk |

| I was thinking of a Douglas F4D-1 Skyray, straight OOB using kit markings for US Navy F4D from VF213 - based at Nas Alameda, California 1958. |

I haven't a clue what I am going to build yet so I guess I will have to explore the stash for a while until something catches my eye.....

I've wanted to do the Willy's Jeep for a while so I'm going to do that. I had originally bought it for that GB anyway but never signed up for it!! _________________ 60% of the time it works every time.

I'll be going seriously retro here.
35 (and a bit) years ago I "built" my first kit. 01001 Supermarine Spitfire IX (aka JE-J).
With a new IX due later this year, now seems like a good time to dust off a JE-J from the stash and see if I can build it properly.
edited the mathematical typo... _________________ The moral is "do your research carefully".

It will really all depend on how quickly I get finished with the RAF 90 group build. If all goes well then I'm going to have a crack at either the 1/48 Spitfire MkI or I may do another version on the Spitfire 22 that I did for last year's Anniversary build. If it takes me longer than the end of April to finish the RAF build then it will be a 1/72 British fighter of some sort. If the new Sea Fury is out in April, as the release schedule says, then I'll most likely have a go at that. |

I asked our host what he would like to see built being as it is his anniversary in a manner of speaking and he suggested a Hurricane/Mosquito combo in the style of a Mistel. I had to go and look it up...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mistel
Not sure I have the skills to do this but serves me right for asking!
Wish me luck.

As long as the kit you're using is an Airfix boxing.
I'm considering making up a Sunderland as 'Black Peter'.
It depends on how my 90th Anniversary build is going! |

Only if you haven't already started it and it is an Airfix boxing.

I would like to join in with my Airfix 1/72 Bf109E-4, possibly in the markings of a rather colourful character!
All the best |

I'm gonna have to start this after I've finished my Spit for the RAF 90th GB. All I need to do is paint her, so should start this week.
I might be adventuresses and do one of my 1/48 Spits (Mk I/IIa (2) or Club Mk XVI) _________________ Airfix Club 500006 |

Following my visit to the Harrington Museum yesterday, I can't resist any longer, and plan to build my recent Mossie acquisition as a Red Stocking Carpetbagger _________________ and was Jerusalem, builded here
