I will be building a Fouga Magister I picked up at Cosford yesterday as I can't remember ever seeing one built up. It looks a nice little kit and won't take up much room. If I have time, another forgotten jet may make an appearance.

As the start date approaches, its time for some pictures.

Here's the box and decals

instructions

and sprues.

As you can see there are lots of rather small parts. I can hear the carpet monster licking its lips already. The fuselage reminds me of a drop tank with a cockpit more than an aircraft.

I can't decide whether to do the Patrouille de France scheme or the Belgian Air Force in natural metal with orange panels. Think

I've never seen one of these built up either. This will be a very interesting build to follow.

Beautiful aircraft. I saw one displaying at Biggin Hill a couple of years ago for the Belgian AF display team's final season with the Magister. I remember seeing it heading towards me and thinking 'that's a bit fast for take-off... oh, it's actually flying' - along the runway, trailing smoke and, I swear, closer to the ground than most aircraft are when taxiing!

So really looking forward to this build, the Magister is a real favourite.

I've decided to go with the Patrouille de France as I have a Matchbox Alpha Jet in the stash with Patrouille de France markings to go with it.
I've made a start on the cockpit and should have some pics soon.

Ratch, I see you're keeping everyone on their toes for this GB. No slacking!

Apologies for the lack of progress but hopfully things will soon begin to pick up. So far I've painted the cockpit interior and added the instrument panels.

I would have posted sooner but until I dicovered the zoom on my camera yesterday I couldn't get a decent picture as it's so small.

Great choice of model.

Funny enough, when the Fouga Magister first came out, I was in my early teens,
and considered it as one of the most boring airplane models I ever saw.
Now, so many years later, I actually want one, and will certainly buy one if I see one at a fair price.

Jesper.

Some progress over the last week has seen the fuselage assembled and Pierre and Rene on board. Pilot

The fit was good but as ever a little sanding will be required.
