Here we go then - standard fayre of an Airfix 1/48th TSR.2 to be completed wheels up on a stand (maybe the big one fron the 1/72 Concorde) in the Empire Test Pilot's School scheme from the Hannant's Xtradecal What If sheet.

I started cutting parts from sprues before taking these photos this evening, and then the in-laws came round so a bit of a false start
unfortunately. I hope to make better progress tomorrow evening.

Cheers for now
Al

Excellent choice.  Once my ejector seats and decals arrive from SBX I am building the same decal version hopefully for display at Hendon.

Good choice of aircraft, seemingly very popular at the moment. Will be nice to see it in the new decals as well ...

Progress is slow, but I've definitely made a start. I'm rather over-commited (as usual) with other GBs on the go as well. I'll post update pics as soon as I can.
Cheers
Al.

Noboby's Fault But Mine as the Led Zeppelin song goes - I've let this GB get away from me I'm afraid. Here is where I am at the moment.

I will put a big rush on over the weekend (taking time out to watch the British Grand Prix practice and race of course). I haven't helped the situation by starting a second TSR.2  - I wanted to do one wheels up - The Empire Test Pilots School, and one wheels down - Dark Earth/Mid-Stone desert camo scheme.

The fit when doing wheels up is nightmarish - hence the green filler.
Anyway, I'll crack on and see what we have by the end of the weekend.

Cheers
Al.

I'm like one of those marathon runners still going a week after everyone else has finished. Here is an update on my progress with the two Airfix TSR.2s The paintwork is atrocious - these scheme more than any other I have attempted have convinced me that I must try to overcome my fear of abject failure with my airbrush, dust off the cobwebs and just have a go.

I am at that position where I ask the question - do I really want to invest any more of my life in these two builds or would I be better off chucking them in the ever beckoning swing bin?! I'm open to your suggestions either way (as you may have notcied, I'm a little depressed at the moment - I had such high hopes for these two)

Cheers
Al.

Hi Beany,

You have invested too much time and effort merely to bin them now.

Take a deep breath and continue with them and don`t let anyone hassle you about racing on with them to meet a deadline.

Put one to the side for the moment and finish the other one first.

Please , please ...dont bin them...We all go through this mate .....my Revell 767 is under the bench and luckily for it , not under a hammer   Ill get back to it when Ive calmed down !!

Good advice from Roger above , leave one to the side for the moment , take a deep breath and re start .

BTW your paintwork looks to be spot on , is it Hu15 for the blue ?? I find this one a bit difficult to brush on , I would use a rattle can .
I have a compressor and airbrush but they are gathering dust in a corner somewhere ....hairy stick works for me , just thin the paint a bit and hey presto !!

Like the desert cammo BTW .

Chin up and look forward to see the finished model , enjoy !!

Andy

Hi Beany, Roger is right it would be a pity to bin them after so much effort. Don't worry about deadlines, just take your time and it'll come right in the end.
