I'm surprised this one isn't here already!

Academy decals are not so hot.  I had trouble with them silvering, being brittle and trying to melt when covered with Future (Klear).  The Gentile (Gen-tilly) markings came from an OLD Superscale sheet.  The Superscale codes (VF T) disintegrated (forgot to use Liquid Decal Film) so I had to use the Academy decals for "VF" and got lucky and found a couple of "T's" in the decal stash.

Whew!  Nothing worse than a disaster at the decal stage!

Great kit.  Not so great decals!

This one is just outside the top five in my 'To Buy' list.....Seing this beautiful example may have just moved it up a few spots!  :D

Lovely model!  8-)

did you need any filler for the gap in the middle of the fuselage where the 4 'Quarters' meet up?

good stuff again Dancho!

Is this the "Old Crow" boxing-i have that one with Malcom hood option.

I agree about Academy decals- don't like 'em much.  They always seem thick and brittle.  the colours sometimes seem a bit suspect as well.

Four quarters?  Don't recall that.

Anyway-- no filler required.  The kit itself was pretty good.

We, the Mods, are having a bit of a blitz on threads with no product code  :rules:

Would the thread originator kindly add the product code, in brackets at the end of the thread title as set out in the rules    here.

Thanks

Dan

Here is my Academy Mustang; another kit without cockpit, lately a nightmare for me. I had to make it from scratch, and so it doesn't look as good as a original but I suppose it looks decent enough.... I followed a 1/48 model I found in the net, trying to make more exciting the usual green with D-Day stripes, blue nose and a shark mouth (hand painted).

Many thanks to all. I really had a battle with the green on this kit, I applied about 3 or 4 different tones of green drybrushed to get a colour that convinced me.
