This was built a while ago. In December 2005 I was asked to build one for Airfix to take to the toy fairs. As there were only 3 weeks to build one I decided to donate this one instead. I was given a replacement which is still in 'The Pile'.

Very nicely built Brian.

How was it as a kit? I've considered getting one because it's an interesting subject, but I'm sure I read somewhere that it wasn't an easy build.

Hi Adrian,
It's actually not a bad kit to put together. About the only rough bit is the rear of the hull where it joins and the rear handrail too.

I left the sails of this as I don't think vac-form sails are very convincing. The next big ship I'll do I may use real cotton and have them tied up to the masts.

I recently won 'HMS Bounty' off E-bay for a fiver and I'm tempted to have a crack at that sooner rather than later.

Hi, The Bounty model is an excellent kit and a brilliant example for making something special. Try using the Conway's Anatomy of the ship guide to make it even more special.

I have built this kit with a lot of extra detailing so will post some photos when I get the chance.

Cool! I'll look out for that.

Cheers!

Hi, have posted my Bounty but for some reason the photos are only showing as links. Not posted photos before the Victory ones so unsure what I have done wrong.

That's really nice. You don't see so many of these old classic ships built.
I wonder what I.K.B. would think? :?

Beautiful models of a ship from a simpler time.
