What can I say. That is truly excellent with a spot on paint job. I saw one of these at a model show but didn't realise it was an Airfix. I'd like to have one, so have started watching a few on fleaBay to see how much they go for.

Again, a stunning build  :Clapping:

Stunning looking bus. A rarely seen kit too. If I remember, a military version was issued too, with WW1 soldiers on board.

Great build. I'm surprised to see that this is the first on in the gallery.

Brilliantly made and great photography, BAC! :notworthy:  I didn't realise it came with figures!  They look spot on! :Clapping:

Wow that's stunning. And I bet you wouldn't be allowed to advertise knife polishing on a bus in London anymore!

I may be wrong, but I think there was an option from the same box to build 'Old Bill' in either civil or military colours. I built the civil version for a friend about 35 years ago, but I still have the military figures - so presumably they came in the same box.

I have a late boxing (1979) verison and it only comes with the figures and instructions for the civil version.

I history section on the instructions does however mention "Old Bill" so this was probably generic blurb applicable to both kits. At some point Airfix must have "rationalised" the boxing into two seperate versions.

Can't wait to get stuck in and start building this one.

Cracking bus !
I have one in the stash that's earmarked for building sometime soon.
Anyone know why the driver only has one hand ?

Nice one Ratch.

Here is my Ole Bill Bus but with a difference - built as a single-decker but it is not based on a particular vehicle:

You can see a demo of this build in the Conversion Corner.
