You know, I can feel myself getting pulled into the whole 'floaty' side of things - this is such a good looking ship! And I quite fancy doing SS Great Western, and some sailing ships...

What have you lot done to me :( :!: :?:

I made my own transfers.

Just take some unused transfer you no longer need, and paint the roundels in using a toothpick. Start with the outer colour first and work inwards. The red is just a dot made with the end of the toothpick.

If you make a mistake you throw the transfer away and make another. Keep going till you make enough good ones for all the planes. That way you don't risk spoiling the paint job on the plane itself by trying to paint directly onto the little wings and fuselages!!

I have just finished Ark Royal, which I have been building on and off for the last few weeks. I decided to build her as a waterline model. Here she is built straight from the box:

Hi Haldane. The base is not permanent and was just for the photos. It was made from a blue-green soft cloth (an old towel) covered in cling film to create a reflective surface.

heres my version of this kit which was built using the white ensign models etch set, plus i was given a set of transfers for the aircraft, but i've only got round to putting two on the flight deck, with the p/e set these are miniture kits in themselves (and a bit of an eye strainer!)

Ayup All...

Fine builds all, But i really love phils. Must be the green Deck (?) and the stringbags. well done.

As i've said before, every time i see such lovely builds, a compulsion to own and make just overcomes me... And this model's on the shelves at Stafford CO-OP too. I think there may be a Gift set?

It's all too much...
