Thank you.

Despite some minor problems with flash around the bridge area it was a pretty problem-free build. The build does require a little organising though so that you do not end with unpainted areas that cannot be reached later on. Prior to painting, I also made sure all fitting problems were resolved first. There were very few parts that were not painted before glueing took place as you can see in one of the pictures I have since added to my original post.

I'm not very good at ships...
I had a go at the Belfast in my VE Day Set. Lets say a quarter of the way through with paint all in the wrong places and glue drops giving splendid new camo to the deck, I decided to stash it away in the loft for years to come!

The Airfix HMS Belfast is supposed to represent her at the time of the sinking of Scharnhorst at the Battle of North Cape in December 1943. However, she didn't carry any aircraft at this time, so to be accurate you should not include the Walrus when making the kit. The modern enclosed bridge seen on the Jolly Boys' Outing was fitted during it's 1956-59 refit.

Here are a few photos of my recently completed build.  I have used WEM PE as well as paints from their RN colourcoat range.

Looks very good out of the box! I built one of these in '85 and thought it a really nice kit.

Weathering - I've never tried it on a ship model.  Afraid of messing it up!  Perhaps the next one.

Cheers

This was a great model to make and as usual photos let it down a bit!. Really good plentiful detail and sorting the camo colour scheme was not a chore at all.... much better Airfix offering than Tiger/Daring ... 10/10
