Thanks for all your sympathy!

It could either be a ski ramp conversion or that experimental rubber deck for wheels up landings?

When you start on the hull, just glue the first couple of inches of the warped end and tape, clamp or otherwise support it until set. Once really set, glue the rest and tape the whole piece.

Try the same with the deck, start with the deformed bit and force it down, when set, glue the rest.

Or try softening and bending with a hairdryer.

My theory is that once the smaller end is glued it is fused and can't separate again, the larger piece will have more adhesive and will allow more force to make the bend.

I think I saw someone else do similar with a bent hull, one of the 1/72 lifeboat builds perhaps?

Check with one of the floaty experts before committing glue, orionv probably has better ideas.

No it is making sense now, Colin, I think you are right.

My theory was based on habit for certain aircraft that i have built and glued in stages from the tail forward, when the nose has had very little area to glue. But they have been flexible enough to position.

I think if i did the same here- it would take a lot more pressure to bend the bow halves together and hold them.  your way should be better- like a longer lever if you see what i mean.

many thanks!

You could 'fix' it with a longer lever.... with a lump of metal on the end.

Think I may have to pull out of the Carrier GB

I can't get an accurate PE detailing set for the Sea Vixens.
The TetchyKits' cockpit detailing and wing fold sets are for the FAW2, but the ones supplied with the kit are FAW1s

Worse still, the AMS Resins AEW radome for the Skyraider has been dicontinued.

There is no way i can scratch build all that in time.

Who needs expensive photoetch?

Just use some free stretched sprue to do detailing. That's what I did when I built the Forrestal a couple of years back...

Trying to put things to rights- been a bit of a struggle -but managed to wretle her into submission- then i could start on the Victorious

Starting at the bows and working back in satges as suggested seems to have done the trick, but the bows took 2-3 attempts and had to reset, and work the bows together in "sub-stages"

result:
