Hello to you all.
And thank you for allowing me to join this build.
The other day I was looking in my boxes of unbuild Airfix kits.
I found this 88mm with tractor and remembered this build of AA.
I started it on a visit to my mother-in-law, and since she knows my passion for building models and somehow finds it interesting
it was perfectly OK for me to be building at her place while we had at cozy conversation at teatime.
I had some of my tools with me in a box and made sure not to make a mess on her table.
So far I has got to this:
The kit is originally from 1967 and I think It has had better days.
This reissue is from 1993 and shows strong signs of bad aligning of the molds, lots of flash
and in some places fussy details.
Many of the wheels don’t even have a center hole anymore.
But all in all the fit of parts is OK once you have cleaned them and not all the frames suffer from
bad alignment.
I remember building the same kit around 1975 with no apparent problems.
All in all a kit bringing back great memories from my childhood.
Good build to all of you from Jesper. |

Hello again.
The 88mm canon is almost finished.
The tractor is not running yet.
I think the build will be a little diorama with some modified Luftwaffe workers to give a little
atmosphere.
Back to work…
…and see you soon.
Jesper. |

Good to see the Airfix Figures in there, that looks like it will be a great diorama

I have decided to use the Opel Blitz from the ”Opel Blitz and PAK 40 gun” kit instead of the half-track.
The idea is the having some soldiers unloading ammo boxes.
See you later…

I know.
The Blitz is only meant as a supply of fresh ammunition.
Not as a tow truck.
But I’m glad you told me, I think I easily could have made the mistake.
With kind regards:
Jesper. |

I’m working on the Blitz at the moment and has just taken a few pictures trying to find the best layout for my little diorama.
It is far from finished but I think the general concept is starting to take shape.
By the way: It will be my first diorama in 27 years
All the best from Jesper. |

Hello RaDioJaNey
I have used some gauze from a first aid kit to make camoflage nettings.
Given it a wash in a dark brown acrylic paint with a lot of water in it.
When I will be using it "for real" it will be glued to the base to stay put.
All the best from Jesper. |

What year
That's a good question. I didn’t really think about it before now.
Maybe I got the colors all wrong, but I had something at the start of operation “Barbarossa” in mind.
I think the standard color then was “dunkelgrau no. 46”
My knowledge of panzer and military vehicles is almost zero But I try and are willing to learn
So any link to pictures to confirm or disallow my plan will be highly welcomed.
With kind regards from Jesper. |

Looking very promising to me!
Dunkelgrau/Panzergrau/German Grey etc. is the right colour for the time period you wish to portray. As this was a summer campaign you might want to give everything a generous dust wash towards the end of the build.

Hello group build.
Due to several circumstances I will not be able to finish my flak 88 diorama before deadline.
When I can have it finished is a little uncertain at the moment, but I think in 2-3 weeks time.
Then I will post some pictures
Sorry.
Jesper. |

No problem Jesper, Group Builds can be continued past the deadline date in the Group Build plus section, I have many unfinished builds there myself
Cheers
