A bit late but I hope to get a good bit done in the Chrissie/New Year beak when work shuts down. I will have a go at the RAAF machine. I really want to one day make one of the ones used in either Guilford, Geraldton or Pearce in WA but I have no schemes to go on at the mo so the one in the box will do.
I am experimenting with the Falcon canopy set that brought over from Oz and have already cut off the roof. Might have to do a bit of engineering to get a nice flush fit but it may pay dividends. I hope I can get the frame work some near as good as the ones finished so far!
Progress pics in the next few days. |

Well I have got the fuselage close to closing. I rebuilt the wing spars that run through the cabin as the original ones didn't line up with the frames on the new canopy.
The IP and seats are done and the radio sets and tables are nearly finished. I have no real idea about the inside of the turret so I will fudge something up. The wings are nearly finished after rudimentary wheel bay additions. |

Sorry all, most embarrassing, I got rather busy with work and stupidly gave my employment way too much of my time. Will try and finish up the Annie and a hurricane for a uamf GB when the present flap is over.
Here are some pics from 2 weeks ago before things got too busy...
The area around the machine gun fairing after a bit of fooling around. I hope to use a Quickboost browning barrel. I assume RAAF planes retained the fixed armament......
The front end.
Some bits that I will try not to lose before closing up the fuselage.
The landing light made from sprue and adhesive aluminium tape, pressed into the depression with the rounded hanle from a cheap file.
A view of the canopy and the port wing upper half with basic detail added.
starboard wing with the ribbing removed and basic panel lines.
The rear area of the fuselage dry fitted to check the turret are additions(improvements?) and the fit of the new floor and spars.
