After market decals for your Concorde are available from
WWW.kits-world.com
And www.f-dcal.net
I have'nt found any for the other original launch customers i.e CAAC, Pan -Am, Lufthansa etc.

My 1/72 kit contains decals to build G-BOAA to G-BOAG in three different schemes covering 1976 to 2003, in other words, all of the BA fleet.
Tom's suggestion that we each choose a different aircraft is a good one, I'm happy to decide mine after everyone else.
Wikipedia has an interesting page on the history of the aircraft with a table toward the end showing the final disposition of the twenty airframes built.

Colin - Is your kit the standard Airfix kit ?
If I buy one of the new concorde 1:144 kits how many variants are included ?
I agree is possible different types should be built by GB members. _________________ Regards, Martin

Hi Martin
I've put a couple of temporary pictures in my build thread for you.
Remember it is the 1/72 kit and mine dates from 2004 although looking at the Hannants site the current boxing of the 1/72 seems to have the same schemes.
The current box of the 1/144 kit is described as 'Union Flag' so may only have the most recent schemes.
Has anyone out there got a recent 1/144 to answer Martin's question?

For anybody not wanting to do an Air France or BA version Rolando Ugolini has produced coloured drawings of "Concorde what might have been !" in Scale Aircraft Modelling March 2006. It includes a grey Virgin Atlantic scheme |

Some rare US Airfix kits you can still buy
and a RAF Blue steel carrying Concorde Bomber ! of which a member of the IPMS Cold War Branch has already built and it looks fab
The middle Braniff one is only going for 10 dollars! |

Thanks Brian, that is a very useful site, lots of history and detail.
Has anyone decided which aircraft/scheme they are going to build?

If no-one else is already doing, I think I would like to do the BA scheme in the recent Airfix packs. Like to do this as I can visit Concorde at Manchester for realism _________________ Regards, Martin

I have been on the Concorde experience at Manchester Airport and it is well worth the money |

Hi Martin
You are welcome to build any aircraft you wish.
G-BOAC was (according to Wikipedia) the BA flagship, but I suspect the coincidence of the first BA Concorde having BOAC as its serial code wasn't entirely a surprise to BA's marketing department!

I would've liked to join this one but I've already started the 1/72 one a few years ago so I don't think I can qualify even though it's not anywhere near finished. I'm doing a RAF Concorde which is totally influenced by this picture Thomas has posted, but if anyone would like to see how I tackled some of the problems with the kit, here's a link to a thread I have running on the Exfix Forum (jump to page 2 for the relative stuff):

As you say a started build doesn't qualify for this GB but I'm sure there will be a lot of folks interested in seeing your completed WHIF.
Anyone with a kit still in the box who wants to join in, please apply!

A lot late, I know, but have dumped a load of reference pics (that will come in useful for us, anyway) here.
