Having built a 1/48 Hellcat and a 1/72Mossie in invasion stripes already this year for other GBs I feel the urge for more stripes.
One could build another Hellcat and Mossie but as I'm on a Spitfire build phase at the mo- Spitfire VIII for AMSIG, Spitfire IIa for AMSIG and a F24 for myself perhaps for AMSIG, I think I will build a 1/48 Spitfire IX in invasion stripes.
I don't have one in the stash at the moment which is why there is a plee in the wanted section but there may be one in stock at a model shop a few miles away from me. |

| The LMS does'nt have it in stock and their supplier is also out of stock with this one. Most probably go the amazon route - being the cheapest way of getting one on the net. |

| I'm supporting my LMS and given them a few weeks to source me a 1/48 Spitfire IX. In the mean time i shall join in with Hardtarget and ColinM and build a Typhoon OOB. |

| I have got the 1/48 Spitfire now so will concentrate on that. The Typhoon will have to wait for another day. |

Box shot. I shall be building the kit OOB but will be using after market decals. May build JE J but there are other D-Day options on the sheet.

I am off on Holiday tomorrow but am taking this kit with me. Saves talking to the mother in law for the next two weeks.
I will be taking pictures as the build progresses but will have no upload facility to the internet so all the pictures will come at once after I'm back assuming I've started it!. |

This looks beautiful work! What a detailed cockpit! Nice job on the instrument panel.
I sometimes wonder what it would be like to wander away from the braille end of the modelling scale. |

Looking good Tom, hope the decals are better than the ones on the Seafire.
Cheers

Having just built the Airfix Then and Now Typhoon/Spitfire I've given up with Airfix decals for a bit and will be going aftermarket for this build. |

I painted another coat of MSG for the undersides and applied the dark green camo last night.
