Eager to start, I've done very little research but keep delving in as things progress (a recipe for disaster   ). I'm going to build the F-2 option
I started off by airbrushing Xe: 203 RLM 66 Schwartzgrau, although in the temperatures we're experiencing at the moment I did experience some problems with flow    The mouldings bear a passing resemblance to the reference pix I've found, but the pilot is the same model as the BoB 109E chappy, wearing an early war life preserver
I'm currently considering either modifying him, or leaving him out completely  Juggling

This is what I've been up to

As you can see, Hermann has been painted    and what might be less noticeable is that his life preserver has been removed

Although he can be squeezed into the office, I'm going to leave him out

Now we're getting into tricky country - closing up the fuselage - and I can foresee problems  Nailbiting

Best of luck with this, looking good so far!

It will be interesting to see what problems (if any) you might have - the wing fit and u/c bays were especially tricky - building the panels so they could be removed as one unit was an interesting experience too!

Did you include rear crankcase [part 32(?) ] which, if you leave it out, can't be seen that it's left out, and eliminates the fit problem?

Ian (Hangartime) mentioned ommiting Part 36 to remove the 5mm extrusion of the engine block

I'd forgotten about the fit problem    but I've just managed to separate the parts and extract the offending piece
And things were going so well too  Whistling

While you have the engine out, I can't tell from your pics, but it SEEMs to be a dark metallic overall. Actually, the shrouds around the cylinder heads were a bright (almost "polished") aluminium.

Good stuff! In a way it's a shame to leave Herman in his bunk but I can see why you want to show the cockpit off!

Wheel wells should be RLM 02

It's not too late to fix that ... call it RLM 66 pre-shading.
