Bought the paints yesterday and commenced on this build today.

Some of the production shots.
The build went very well. Like most re boxed Otaki kits it fits like a glove.

Tonight I've undercoated the build with RLM76.

Two coats of xtracrylic RLM76 followed by attaching the undercarriage and drop tank.

Tonight some more painting.

It is indeed - but before you go too much further, make sure you check the angle of the undercarriage. It's difficult to see from the last shot but it looks to me like the aircraft may be standing a little 'tall' and therefore the u/c may be angled too steeply. The 190's u/c legs canted inwards quite considerably. Apologies if you have this covered already, but I thought it was better to mention it in case you needed to address anything. Some kits don't make it terribly clear what the angle should be.

With this kit there are two cross pieces which set the angle of the undercarriage. The left hand one has popped out of its supporting lug whilst the glue was drying. I'll redo it once the birds painting has finished.

HU32 Camo bit.

HU27 Camo bit. Paint came from the D-9 gift set I bought for this GB.

I only have RLM76 in stock and thats because I hate mixing paints so I'm going off the Humbrol paint callouts in the instructions

That's not a particularly good pic, because it looks like the wheels are parallel to the u/c legs!

More progress shots

Guns and canopy on and legless Think

Plumb line and protractor out. U/C leg back on at recommended angle.
A bit of mottling - first time i've done any thing like this.

Decals on. They are a bit fragile and i lost the tail band as it disintegrated into lots of small pieces on the plane. I will paint the band instead.
Brews said it was an old kit but like the ex Otaki Hellcat and Spitfire VIII every bit fits with no filler needed - only pressure. I've certainly not had the fit issues that Ratch had with his 1/24.

There are some more decals to be added, a few touch ups and a bit of weathering to finish it off.
