Unfortunately I needed my Lynx'es to another GB.
I've just ordered an Airfix Westland Sea King as my Heller re-box wasn't allowed. I guess I have to wait until the kit has arrived.
When it comes, I've got an old, but hopefully usable Modeldecal sheet with marking for a german Marine Sea King Mk. 41
Here are the decals.

My 03040 Westland Sea Lynx has finally arrived
It came in the latest Hornby box and with decals that were perfect in register .
It's a pity that I won't use them in this build.

The kit was the same mess that I had in my Heller box.
I've check some photos of the interior colors of the german Sea Kings.
Greenish floor and orange brown seats looks near enough for me.
I've just put on some base colors to check if it feels right.

I've put together the rotor. It took me about one hour to sand and get all the flash of this rotor. At least, it wasn't bent or something.
All five blades have the same angle and the two twin inspectors in the red suits look satisfied too

I'm looking forward to seeing this-- I like anything with dayglo. In the mean-time, I have got to get one of those green covered-with-little-squares work mat thingies. They look so professional! _________________ “Build what YOU want, the way YOU want to, and above all, have fun.”

@ dancho Yep, those green cutting pads are great.
The biggest problem is that you buy yourself the biggest green double-megasize that you can find. Put all your stuff on it and end up building @ 10% of the original space
@ Paula & Dan The longest 20 minutes ever
I've got two identical kits but wasn't allowed to show any result before I also had the right Airfix box...
The interior looked a bit empty and has now got two cargo nets made from, hrmm.....
...I wonder what my girlfriend will say when she notices the small cut-out square missing in her curtains _________________ Cheers, Jan

I haven't found any fishnets yet but if, then I'm sure she'll notice if something is missing
I've come a bit further. I've done some painting with Humbrol 79
and put on the, believe it or not, still movable door.

...and the last for today is the radome, tailrotor and the jet intakes.
It was an easy-fit with no glue required.
Only a lot of putty
And from above I just found a nice see-through hole that i think doesn't exist on the real Sea Kings.
Have to put some plasticard from the inside to cover it up.. _________________ Cheers, Jan

Thanks Paula (or Dan)
Some progress...
Looking for the missing cockpit parts that are playing hide&seek with me.
I've put on a base coat for the day-glo fields, but there is still a lot to do. Aerials, wires, the winch....and decals...and...
Let's see if I finish at the deadline or just end up dead at the finish line _________________ Cheers, Jan
