I will be building either an Kingfisher, which I already have, or an Arado which I have ordered but not received as yet.
Cheers

Received a message from KingKit saying that the Arado and JU52 are on their way so I think that I will make the Arado for this build as Paul is doing the Kingfisher.
Cheers

Made a small start last night, cleaning up some of the parts as a break from cleaning up Sherman tank road wheels. Managed somehow to break off one of the prop blades
This will be an out of the box build by the way, it will not be a patch on Dig's Arado
Cheers

Repaired the broken prop and started work on assembly. The cockpit interior has been put together and I have fabricated a little bit of a cockpit floor, not sure if this is correct but feel something will be needed to hide any gaps that may be visible through the vast expanse of cockpit.
Also assembled the floats
Cheers

Finally got to upload some pictures so here is an update of progress so far, some of this was done before I went away on leave last Thursday, the rest was done on Monday of this week.
The wing parts were assembled, all fairly straight forward, which could not be said for the clean up operation required on the cowling, the mould seam ran around the whole thing cutting through all of those little nodules (sorry, do not know the technical term for these ) The following picture shows the cleaned up item test fitted to the fuselage.
Here the fuselage halves have been joined to see if the floor section fitted, seemed to work OK
The cockpit was painted next, I ticked in a few of the dials here and there and was quite pleased with the result, the fuselage halves were then cemented together remembering to add the support for the machine gun
My attention was then turned to the aircrew, they were cleaned up and then painted.
Not being an expert on the uniforms worn by these chaps, I went for a sort of tan flight suit, with subdued yellow life jacket, not sure if this is correct but I am quite pleased with their appearance.
These fellows were then squeezed into their respective seating positions and that is where I left it prior to going on holiday.
On my return I attached the wing sections to the fuselage, only a tiny bit of filler required here and then put the tail plane together and installed that, again there were few fit problems, just a little filler required here and there.
Next up the floats were given a bit of a sand down, had to use a scrapping of filler on the joins, and then they were attached to the main support struts.
This assembly was left to dry and when ready was attached to the main part of the aircraft along with the two further support struts. The cockpit canopy was then added as was the nose/propeller.
Once again a small amount of filler was required around the windscreen area, this is yet to be sanded down. And that is as far as this has progressed to date.
Cheers

Thanks Ratch
Now my holidays are over for a little while I should be able to get back onto this, I purchased the necessary paints and some swastika decals just before I went away. Hopefully get the first coat of paint on tonight.
Cheers

Thanks for the kind comments chaps.
I managed to get some paint on the underside last night, only thing was I picked up the wrong pot of paint and ended up with a coating of sky, I thought it looked a little bit greener than it should still it made a good base coat for the correct colour when I found it .
Cheers

Not sure that you can see much difference in the picture below but I promise I have painted the underside
In the next shot you can see where I have overpainted the original coating of sky
Am in the process of masking the cockpit elements and will then begin to apply the camouflage colours to the upper surfaces
Cheers

Thanks for the kind comments chaps
Forgot to mention in the previous post that I have started to paint the upper surfaces, Just wish that I had painted the top of the floats before attaching them to the aircraft
Cheers

Some more pictures of painting etc carried out yesterday
Here the initial sections of green have been masked off to allow for the darker green to be painted
The pictures above show the situation after the dark green has been added and masking removed
The spinner has been painted red and the propellor blades were painted in a very dark grey.
There will need to be quite a bit of touching in, mainly around the floats and their supports and then I will paint any fine detail.
Cheers
