Sorry I've only just started to put it together, my father died the other week so it was 3 weeks off, with me by his bedside.

Anyway things are back on track now, a few bits are missing from the kit but it's going together.  I'll post some pics as soon as.

Cheers

Thank you Sgt.

Here are the shots of the kit and contents.

The decal options are for an all over silver WW2 plane or a post war red & silver.  As the last one has been covered I'm going for the WW2 bird.  If the decals fail then it might be a what if bird instead.

Cheers

Nick

I've got the WW2 style decals left over from my build if you want them as a back up.

Here are some more shots.

I had a few problems getting the wing to connect to the struts, but as you can see I over came it!!

This is how she stands at the moment.  One coat of Oxford blue on but I've had to order a new tin of intermediate blue from Vince as mine had dried up.  So I should be finished this weekend.

She's coming along nicely, Airfix really made an amazing amount of dihedral on those lower wings, no wonder I had to cut so much off the struts of mine to get the top wing on!

I would have done the same as you.  I couldn't believe it myself when I put the lower wings on.  Wouldn't have liked to have a ride in that on the sea!!!

Anyone know what colour the bombs would have been?

All finished.  I took a few photos but when I put them on the computer they were mostly out of focus even with macro on.

Anyway here are the better photos.

Grumman Duck J2F-6, U.S. Navy, NAS Patuxent River, U.S.A., 1943.

Would just like to say thanks to everyone's kind words after my dads death, also thanks to Rich for the decals and the tip on putting the top wings on first and to Sgt for the offer of back up decals.

Cheers everyone.
