I built this one some years ago. I just fancied a change from my normal diet of 1/72 stuff.

I started to build the old Airfix kis again and began with the Golden Hind, the rigging is made from wire and then painted.
I was reasonably pleased with the results.

Your pictures did not show on my screen, Zak! So I made, against the rules (sorry Ratch), a quote of your post with pictures; now I can see them. :thumb:

Great work, chaps!

Made up from an early issue of this kit (Pattern No. 1264) with a Type 2 Header containing the original "sea base" as well as the kit's original waterline hull design.  Ratlines were provided in the kit, printed in black on a sheet of clear acetate.
Decals reprinted on an ALPS printer as the originals had yellowed badly.  Kit completed for display in Hornby/Airfix visitor centre - 2010.

Ayup BACTSR2...

It's a pity then that the kit couldn't be Re-jigged to give THIS look instead of the ' Full-Hull' Desk model, IMO. Mind you, thinking about it, it probably HAS been to make the full-hull version. Shame. this one looks better to me.

Love the Re-Decalling too...

Thanks again Ratch. I will buy one as soon as I get more room in my big kit chest. I can't get the lid closed for the moment. :D
