Last week or so Airfix changed their website.
I believe they have made it worse and totally user unfriendly. I've posted the following on their facebook page and their own forum.

I really, really hate the new style Airfix website home page. Its absolutely NOT user friendly. Who had the stupid idea of changing a website which worked well to this totally messed up one?!?
It took me 6 attempts to log in today; each time the site wouldn't recognise my password.
Last week I attempted three times to make up a big order, I was heading to the £65 -£70 in small kits and paints; three times the site logged me out and wiped out the contents of the 'basket'. I gave up and spent my money elsewhere.
The listings are a mess; all the scales lumped together. One has to view all the 1/72 military aeroplanes with the 1/48 and 1/24. Only two options; list by price or by alpha.
Why not keep the list by 'kit code number'? then all the similar sized & priced kits are together?
All the military vehicles lumped together. 1/76 to 1/32.
Sorting by price; I had a number of 'out of stock' kits with high prices listed before the lower priced kits 'in stock' and then it still wasn't perfect as in the middle of the listing I got other priced kits mixed it ; ie £7.99 & £9.99 starter kits among the £5.99 ones.
No longer can one view any number of kits per page than the the default view; so one has to go through pages and pages of kits to try and spot the one you want. Before you could choose to view up to 64 kits per page - that meant only two pages for 1/72 aeroplanes, unlike the 7 pages of mixed scales on it now.
Bring back the old site and sack whoever set the new one up. Airfix are not doing themselves any favours with this new mess.

I doubt if I'll get any response from Airfix as I'm still long awaiting for responses from them about other matters.

I don't like it either fred, but for me, by far the worst thing is the random posting and total lack of administration to restore some kind of order :hithead:

Probably going to end in tears (or "poochunks") again!

I rarely visit the Airfix website now, but I used to be a frequent visitor (and buyer). I totally agree with you, Fred:
Bravo Airfix, what an absolutely splendid job you have done of shooting yourself in the foot with your redesigned website. Please let me know when the next "Black Friday", "Last Chance" (still makes me laugh) or "No Reason Sale" is on and I will happily come along and buy what I want at a knockdown price instead of doing what I used to do, and buy pretty quickly after release. Thank you Airfix for costing yourselves an absolute fortune and saving me a pretty packet as well :thumb:
P.S. Please take the bean counters out the back and shoot them, because you are ruining the brand for short term profit. :(

Not a fan of the new design. I preferred it the was it was as I could navigate individual sections ie 1:72 military aircraft.
They've really mucked this one up and I hope they change it back or at least listen to customer feedback and implement a better listing system.

To show only, say, 1/72 kits you can use the "Refine" button towards the top on the right hand side to select only the scale you want to see.
Best wishes,
Piers

It's a complete disaster. I've tried it and got fed up.

Unless I'm greatly mistaken, that feature appeared after I wrote the above complaint.
Airfix have quickly changed their website in the past after I complained eg, when they had the pictures of the Black Prince reversed, they changed them within an hour of my complaint.

Anyone else notice that the "Club Price" for any kit is more than the "normal" price? Now there's incentive to join!

After I log in the prices are the discounted Club member price with the regular price smaller, stroked through, to the left of that price.

Odd. My membership has lapsed, but what I see is the regular price in large typeface, with the "special club price" listed underneath in smaller type (not struck through) -- and the special price is greater than the regular price in every instance!

Just tried it and it´s not really what I´d call "user friendly", the old Version was better.

Why change something that works? The new website is total rubbish, and not one I'll be visiting again.

Hmmm

Didn't even get that far; on the homepage, clicking any link resulted in the error "502 Bad Gateway"

Then refreshing the homepage gave the same error - that's about the point I gave up...

A result; I haven't been on the Airfix website for quite a few days so only today I see they have put back the option to sort kits by 'code number' both up and down.

The only positive I've found on the new site is that you can search for a partial product code, for instance if you're checking what series 4 kits are in stock before sending off your flying hours, you'd enter "A04" for the search (or "A040" to limit it to 1:72 aircraft).

There is a new feature on the website.
Its a double barreled trick.
You can now see and arrange kits yet to come in in the expected date order.

Airfix list kits yet to arrive as 'pre-order'. These can be chosen to be listed in the expected date of arrival order.
You still need to view the individual kit to see the actual expected date.

eg I can now see that the WW1 DFD should be in before the Beaufighter Mk.X [late]

This should help you plan your spending over the coming months.
