Airfix announced on facebook a rather attractive sale on a few items including Operation Herrick stuff. I'm really tempted, even with the postage prices.... forward assault set for 8.99  .

Well a lot of what's advertised is out of stock or not available :!: limited to three kits as well :!: bar the Illustrious all of these kits on offer have been dumped into the open market anyway for the past few weeks and have been heavily discounted by numerous retailers with no limit on what you can buy. Way to go Airfix.

Seems to be getting rid of 50% of what they have in storage. A lot of starter sets have turned up in Sainsburys heavily discounted.

they were all in stock on the first day so must have sold them all. I haven't seen retailers doing such good deals on the Herrick stuff?

I ordered the Buccaneer and the Jackal/Crew figure set, threw in some detail brushes used my 10% discount got free postage and the pack is on its way! I noted too that things went out of stock quickly but not surprised given the discounts certainly on the Herrick stuff.

It is a last chance it says on Airfix site to buy these classic kits. Some have only been released in last 2 years but that opens another worm can over what makes and when is a kit a classic kit but with Operation Herrick and troops and all equipment coming home from Afghanistan it could be seen as timely to rethink the advertising for those items for future sales

Ditto, it's a pity they seem to have punted all the 1/72 wingy things to Hannants rather than selling them direct.

All arrived today exactly as advised. According to the delivery note I saved 64.03% on the Forward Assault Set and 39.96% on the Buccaneer (roughly....!) plus I got another 10% off for club membership and free postage (saving another little wodge!) Really pleased...detail bushes effectively free and all items that were on my 'to buy' list! Even managed to justify it to Mrs Valiant as I had completed four kits over the summer and passed another dozen or so over to a friend to eBay so technically my stash is shrinking and I've saved money in spite of these purchases! (Is this what they call modeller's logic...?)

Damn, I missed out on Illustrious...been after that one for a while ...the price would have been great even with postage.

You could try Wonderland models, it's 29.99 in their sale section ATM.

I recently placed a big order with Airfix (arriving tomorrow :DDD) and picked up a load of stuff from the sale. Got the Benevolent fund Hawk, a Churchill croc, T-34, SD.KFZ 234, Sea Harrier FRS1, 1:48 army lynx and Sherman crab all for around 50% of their retail prices which I'm pretty chuffed with!
