I read a review of these paints and saw them in my local lms, so decided to give them a go. I expected them to be Acrylic but they are actually enamel paints. This was a but of a negative for me as I specifically wanted an acrylic metal coat but that's my fault not the paint. Word of warning. These paints are `hot`. I sprayed over a 48 hour dried coat of Model Master silver and the paint immediately crazed and lifted (model master are enamel but I've not experienced this problem spraying MM over Humbrol enamel or vise versa). Second problem their metal pigments are significant enough to clog an airbrush when cleaning with white spirit. The airbrush cup reminded me of filling particles after visiting the dentist. You will have to do a full strip down and clean after use. I'm not saying these are bad paints. AK are a well respected brand. But I would advise using an acrylic undercoat or base and testing first.

That's a shame about the paint. Mr Hobby metals colours are acrylic I think. :blob:

If you want acrylic, go for the Vallejo metallisers, I've not used them but the samples I've seen look very good. Enamel metallisers almost always have a hot spirit base which is why I'd guess it reacted with the base silver coat, although silver and the like often take several days to gas off completely, so that could be a contributory factor.

k31th, if you're referring to mr Metal metallisers I think you'll find they're lacquer based.
