Splendid job there Flip , but as you are displaying the kit/conversion in its completed state, I wonder if you have misunderstood the concept behind group builds .

Basically a Group Build is where we each make a kit on a particular subject or theme and share our experiences/problems encountered etc. A more detailed description of what group builds are about can be found at the following link.

http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.org/about4601.html

Of course if you are planning on starting a new build and the above pictures are only a flavour of what is to come then please ignore my above comment and carry on   . Let us know either way.

Cheers

Stu

Perhaps, I let the deadline rule my decisions more than I should have.

Stu, I had not planned on the group built having not noticed it until a few days before the closing ( Feb).  Having recently posted my model in the regular Airfix section, I though it fit the topic and would be nice to have it in context in the archived amphib section. (That is what happens next, right?)

My built is a deception of sorts , beyond the camo, as it was a very simplified approach to achieve the look. Although I had the Airix article from many years ago, I thought I could create a realistic representation with an abriged process. I feel I achieved that goal.

As for methodology, pictures of my decking process would have looked just like the other posting.  I did not change the running wheels.  The rear would the similar too. As noted in the post in the Buffalo & Jeep forum, I did elect to use the M-box M-3 Stuart turret on both this build and the M-5 build (posted at M-box M-3 Stuart).

My gunners' tubs were done the same, but again in the simplification, I used the M-box 30 Cal. mg and omitted the shields.

I'll be glad to reply to any questions posted.
