Great work on the Mk VII from the new series and the Mk II from the original series

The Mk.II is from the new series too, it has parallel sides to the canopy, curved intakes and is generally a bit more pointy than the Mk.I.....The second model looks like a Mk.I from the original series with canopy sides that taper to the rear, square(ish) intakes and less sweep to the fins.

I'm well aware that the Mk II is in the new series (see my avatar), but before the new series came out the Vipers in the old series were also known as the Mk II.

Since the new series the older Viper has been referred to as the Mk I to differentiate it from the new one, but also because one of the old ones does appear in the Cylon War museum onboard the Galactica in the 2003 Miniseries.

Viper Mk I in 2003 BSG Miniseries

I still sometimes refer to the old one as Mk II, but in hindsight should start to refer to it as the Mk I

Didn't think Vipers were anything but Vipers in the original series, but thought I should point out the differences in appearance.....Personally I still prefer the original 'Viper Mk.I'.  8-)

Not sure where I saw them referred as Mk II, I think it was on a Sci-Fi ship schematics site. They offcourse could have been wrong.

Personally my favourite one is the Mk II from the new series, although I do have fond memories of the original series
