This kit is listed as 1959 , yet the early kit I have has 1960 moulded in the fuselage , surely it was not remoulded after only a year , or was 1959 the date it was announced ?

The copyrights plus dates were added to the moulds of some of the older kits (but not all of them) sometime in the early 70s as far as I can tell, so are not necessarily entirely correct (but they may be, in some cases, when a kit was announced in one year but actually released in the next). But as my parents were in their teens then, I'm not in a position to make a first-hand statement

That could easily explain it as the box of the kit I have  looks more 70's .

I have just acquired a second hand Bristol Belvadere but it has no decals with it. Does anyone know where I can get some. I want to paint in grey green camouflage colours as used in the far east.  I have tried some of the usual suppliers with no success.

The kit comes with decals for the silver and white scheme as far as I know. If you want to do a scheme like this - picture - I suspect aftermarket roundels and serial numbers are your best bet. If you would like, I can have a look at my model (in the silver and white scheme) to see the sizes you'll need.

Thanks, that's exactly the scheme I am looking for. Getting the roundels and fin flashes should be OK but all the other warning markers, arrows etc will be a challenge I think.

Hi Bob,
there's a picture of the decals in my build as part of the Rotors GB here. Most of the warning signs are on a white background and wouldn't be suitable for a camo bird.

I suspect you'd have to get a high resolution scan and print your own on clear decal sheet (thereby losing the white). Unfortunately I don't have a scan of the decals, just the photo which I think is too low resolution to be useful. If you want to give it a try, pm me your e-mail address and I'll send you the the original .jpg.

Rich

Thanks for letting me know about the kit decals. I was about to invest in a set of Airfix decals which I had spotted, so that would have been a waste of money.

I will scout around and see what I can find in the decal catelogues. If all that fails I might come back for your kind offer of a scan.

Thanks again

Maintrack used to do a conversion kit i seem to remember. i don't do fling wings as a rule but I have one of these and would build it if it is posible to produce an operational example.
