Not sure which colour to paint the webbing on these uniforms  :juggle:  I know what I like, but which is right  :?:
This is a multichoice poll  :!:

Les, Cap & Ron

It may be that they are all correct (taking into consideration fading, bleaching etc.) and you may vote for as many as you wish

I voted for Les, as while the contrast with uniform is low, the finish is good and the colour suitably drab (I'd probably lighten it just a tad with buff or cream).

Cheers Andy, I must admit - I think Les's contrast is lacking  :nailbite:  do you think Cap & Ron look wrong  :?:

Nope.....Just preferred Les.

Wouldn't worry about the contrast too much, a  little shading on the uniform and highlighting on the webbing, plus a nice strong oil wash to define the edges.....Job's a good'un!  :D

I reckon a little variation in your chap's gear will look good.

It depends on which period you are trying to represent: for early war, BEF etc, it needs to be pea green; later war it goes to the more familiar faded green colour

Les. As examples all three colours can be found,  his is midway between the lot.

I voted for Cap and Ron. I like Ron, the contrast suits me. I thought Cap looked clean and new which is what I'd expect of an officer. :)

I went for Ron too, but that's just what looks right to my eyes.

A good base color is Ron.

It could go all the way to an off-white especially Desert Vets liked it that color and you'd see it in Italy.  I scrubbed down my set to get all all the "blanco" off and it best matched Ron.

However, it could be darker depending and when issued.  Cap being an MP could have darker better cared for webbing.

Then there's the sergeant major.  What color does he want it?  That's the final arbiter when out on parade.  He wants it darker, dye it in tea, lighter get out the blanco.  It's his army, his parade and I live in his world.
