Have you ever bought a model you just know you’ll never build?

You know the kind: “why on earth did I buy that?”

The most obvious in my stash is the 1/32 Revell Panavia Tornado GR. Mk1 RAF.
I think it was the prize of 250DKr. (approximately £25) that lured me in.
If build, I will have no place to display it, it’s simply too big!

And I don’t want to get rid of it either!

All the best from Jesper.

The new airfix club kit.
I'm never gonna build it.
Also the remaining boats from Kriegsmarine set hy Heinkel HE-111 and the last stages of my HMS Hood or my tamiya Modern infantry (I say modern thier probably the last Iraq war figures but that's what the box says).

The only other kit's I have that I'm not going to build are in the sale section.

not that i have bought- always have good intentions to build- if not a within a definite time frame.

have been given a Revell Victor that i would love to get around to building, but given limited space and time i can see it being box bound forever.

Also was given a Tu-94(?) Bear which is a fantastic looking plane but it is a strange non descript scale- no idea which, lacks a lot of detail, lacks the glazing and so will sadly languish. Playkit or Playfix or something(?)

I got a Tiger Moth of ebay, and it was mostly build (not mentioned in the listing), and will take a lot of work to get it up to scratch

Probs the Churchill bridgelayer tank from Revell. It was so cheap though!

In all probibility, my 1/400 Airfix HMS Hood. I was so smitten by the look of my 1/600 early 30's fit Airfix Hood (The White Ensign etch really does it for me) that doing a later fit would sully the look.

I have loads in my stash that I think that about. The Airfix 1/24th scale planes, the 1/72nd B52 & B36, the 1/48th B17 & JU52, the Revell 1/72nd Gato & U Boat, Space 1999 Moonbase Alpha, 1/350th scale ships....The list goes on.  I am a sucker for a bargain at the model shop or on ebay, but I always forget that I haven't got the space to display them if I build them.

Thanks heavens for ebay as a way of getting shot of those stash queens though.

Original issue of Airfix 1/72 Spitfire BTK. I've built a resin copy, so I know I will never build the original kit. Every other kit is fair game though. :-)

When I was at the Vendors' tables at the Vancouver IPMS show on Saturday, there were a couple of kits that people had bought some time ago, and hadn't built, of course. One of these was the 1:32 Tornado you mentioned ($10) and another was the 1:32 Hunter FGA9 ($20). Bargains!. I didn't buy either, having the former and two of the latter, but I would have. Which is why I have models I know that I won't get around to for at least quite a while.

The one that jumps out at me is a Hobbycraft Grumman S2F Tracker.

Well I bought the re-issue of the Airfix Gladiator because I saw how quick everyone was snapping them up at stores and webstores.  After finding one at an LMS and then looking at the parts --- well let's just say I don't remember it being quite like that when I bought one many moons ago.

But the intention is to build all my models in the stash, the question remains, will I have time too?

Beside my 1/32 Tornado I don’t have room for, I have over the last 3 years bought a few (10) vintage cars and vehicles in 1/16.
Some are quite big: Dennis 1914 Fire engine, 2 steam vehicles, a Bugatti Royale to name a few.
If I build them all in one go, I don’t have much space for the rest of my models.
So they will be build with some kind of priority and merged with the rest of my models.
The last is scheduled way beyond 2075 I think…

But I intent to build them! Together with my other 180+ models -/+ a few.

All the best from Jesper.

HMS Manxman. I realised after it had been in the stash for nearly 30 years, that I am not a ship man. I think it was the art work on the box that drew me in originally. Someone took it away a few weeks ago on ebay, so I hope it gets built and not just collected.

I have one of these in my stash

I would love to build it, but to scared of messing it up, certainly due to the value of it. so if anykit in my stash is not going to ever get built it will probably be this one.  Having the dicast to hand also means I don't feel the need to build it as yet.

I have four 1/32 Tonka's and they will all get built as long as I have time to do them (those and the other 100+ 1/32 scale kits in the stash)

The Tonka is a lovely kit when built and can be vastly improved with a little effort and Eduard Etch.  Although the tonka is a big bird, the Airframe is quite Narrow, therfore they do not take a lot of space to display them.
