I know I already have another post going on with a similar subject, but so I don't  confuse anyone, I am just gonna make a quick thread to show a little Dio I made this afternoon just to test out these new tips I've found on my other thread: http://airfixtributeforum.myfastforum.o ... php#386889
Pics will be up soon... :D

here are a few photos of what it looks like right after it was sprayed (the photos were tooken about a minute after the model was sprayed, so it looks a little glossy    )

It's on a small piece of thin wood, with some non-drying modeling clay( dollar store), and some spray adhesive sprayed on it. I then added some sand I had in my backyard, then I added some  rocks, rubble (Wine Cork), wood, rocks and will later be putting some grass and maybe even a palm tree. I then sprayed some flat (not Gloss), black spray paint. The house is made of posterboard (dollarstore), because I think that 40$ is WAY too much for an African house (Italeri).

The rubble was made of two little lumps of clay covered with the materials I mentioned above:

I also used Cat litter, to make the little lups of pebbles around the rocks:

Will be continuing tomorrow, I'm about to fall asleep

Building your own house is much more fun than buying one!

Rubble is excellent, it's a challenge to paint. Check out this post, I think one of the 'top ten of rubbles' :) on here...

The sand looks good too - more than fine enough. Any chance of a pic before you sprayed it so we can see the different materials?

Interesting. The base and walls look like they are made from insulating foam...what type of  spray paint did you use???

Yeah the base is wood with some flattened modeling clay, and the building was made from poster board. Basically, poster board is a layer of foam between two pieces of paper. You can buy it for like 8 bucks a piece at craft stores, or the much more affordable 1$ at the dollarstore

The spray was Testor Flat Black spray (around 7$), I had just a tiny bit left (practically empty) because I used it to prime my models, and turned out it was enough to cover the whole thing

Thanks :D

Thanks. I thought the whole thing was foam..and i wondered which spary wouldn´t effect foam  due to my mistake of using a spray can on a foam based dio (which took several hours to create) only to see it slowly dissolve before my eyes

Then I drybrushed some "Sand", and then "Antique White", both cheap Acrylics (Note: The ruble is not Painted)

I'm sorry and very disappointed to announce that I was not able to obtain the models I needed for this Diorama as I wasnot able to find a payment method (through their website) that was suitable for me. :(

Instead I will just put my PAK 40 in this one. I will probably have some pictures by tomorrow night or friday night, as I seem to have a very busy and stressing week  :x

I have some Good news, I've found a new way of obtaining the models I needed for this Diorama. But until I order them, I have finished the most part, and put certain models in it for now.

Enjoy :D
