Sorry folks forgot to ask the boss to set up the start date/poll section    have now sent PM, hopefully Ratch or one of the Admin chaps can set up the hidden poll section and Spudgun can then add the start date poll thread.

Apologies once again

Cheers

Stu

Sorry chaps, posted on the other thread "pre locking." Anyone got any suggestions for a decent first "non winged" build?

No problem George, all my fault.

We will have a start date poll set up soon  Adrian has kindly set up the sub forum, I will leave it to Spudgun as build leader to choose a selection of suitable start/finish dates for us participants to vote on.

As to the best Ex JB model to build as a first non-wingy type build I am sorry to say that I cannot help, I only have the Vickers light tank and the Land Rover Ambulance kits as JB boxings neither of which I have built, I  am sure that one of the other lads will be able to be of more help.

Cheers

Stu

The Poll is up and running. Mind you, all but one of the current participants (I don't count at the moment) have already voted.

Sadly George, I can't suggest a kit either. I have the same kits as stuzzar. Mind you, I have peeked inside the boxes and the Vickers looks the simpler of the two kits.

The Airfix boxed mouldings, appear to be exactly as JB boxed ones, but with a lighter colour plastic.
Decals look very nice.

These new (2009) boxes are quite strong too

Anyone doing the 02332 M119 British 105mm Light Field Gun  should find two complete kits in the one box.

There is a nice little crowd gathering for this build, it should be interesting with variety of vehicles available.

Cheers
