I'm about to do some Afrika Korps figures to go with my half track and 88 and am wondering what you'd recommend for their skin - Hu74 (or 'buff' in the original Airfix paint guide) is recommended for both uniforms and vehicles so any suggestions on what to use instead of Hu61 for those soldiers who've presumably now got a bit of a tan?

I use a normal flesh colour and then give it a wash with Games Workshop 61-76 Flesh Wash

Vallejo do a range of different flesh tones, which will allow different levels of "tanned European" flesh on desert troops.

The thing is that when we Europeans go out in the mid-day sun, we tan on our upper surfaces and remain pale on places like the underside of the arms, the palms of the hand and where our clothing has shielded us, so its not an all over single colour tan that is required
