This is a fairly old offering from Frog and certainly, I feel, not one of their best. It isn't a patch on the Airfix one. The aircraft represents one operating in France in 1945 - it has underwing D-Day stripes, but they are not on the upper surfaces. It also lacks the upper turret so often seen on the P-61. The model is a bit of a botchup because parts went 'missing' over the years. The whole forward cockpit, for example, simply disappeared between any of the several cities to which it has been moved. The one on the model is one I crash moulded from clear acetate using a shape casrved in balsa, not very successfully, but that explains the incorrect shape. One set of propellors and spinner also disappeared. I made a new set, but did not do it properly - it was about 20 years when I did it. I may make some proper ones, one day. I have upgraded the model with a lick of paint and a few bits. It will have to do. And yes, that horrible join line will also have to wait for attention!

Nicely done Gerry! :thumb:

I've built this twice, the first time as the O/D over neutral grey (no longer with us) and secondly all black with invasion stripes (in the to be repaired box).
