Hows about a TSR 2 seeing as I haven't build either off them yet or a Mosquito, I want to make another model of the wooden wonder seeing as it is such a brilliant plane

I'd like to do a TSR2 group build.
I'd also like to to a Wallace and Grommit anti-pesto build
Both are on my to do list

I guess the TSR.2 would be a good one. Trouble is, I dobt if there will be another W&G GB, as there was one that finished just after the old forums on airfix closed... _________________ Owen

I would love to take part in a group build, but I have moved pretty firmly over to 1/48 scale for the forseeable future.
I would be happy to do a group build of any current Airfix 1/48 aircraft (WWII for preference)
I would also go for a TSR2 build, but I suspect a lot of people have already built one fairly recently. |

Perhaps a 1/48 Hawker Hurricane Mk.I? A series 4 kit (i.e. £10), so something that wouldn't break the bank. ModelsforSale.com also sell the older issue with the old box-art for £5.00.
Alternativly, there are other Series 4/5 Kits around the £10 mark in 1/48 by airfix - various Spitfires, a 109, Harrier etc... _________________ Owen

So, it appears that three of you (Heggy, Radio Gnome and The Buisnessman) would all do a Hurricane build with at least two of you willing to build 1/48 and Heggy a 1/72. So, rather than a Specific Group Build where a particular model is chosen, why not just have a Standard Group Build where any Airfix Hawker Hurricane can be built?
Remember, if anyone wants a Group Build of a particular subject to take place, then they have to poll the forum members to see if anyone else wants to take part in that Group Build. They also have to arrange a start date and end date (normally two months after start) and to co-ordinate the admin side of the Group Build - with the assistance of me. This is in addition to actually leading the Group Build. So, who is going to volunteer to be Group Build Leader?
BTW, I am taking part in the BN Islander Group Build that starts on 1st September so I won't be doing another aircraft Group Build just yet. I am also intending to lead a Group Build in the latter half of September/early October - once I've chosen a subject!

If a Hurricane GB was to take place, I wouldn't mind leading the expedition. I might even make two hurricanes - a 1/48, and a 1/72 - both Mk.I's. _________________ Owen

I have a 1/48 Hurricane that I started as part of the group build on the old forums so wouldn't mind getting that finished.
It would have to wait until after the Katy and Islander builds though
Cheers

I don't mind waiting a while until we have enough Davecover's who are up for it. Any 1/48 GB would be great for me.
I must admit, the Hurricane is a bit special isn't it. The Spitfire gets all the glamour and publicity, but without the "workhorse" Hurricane in those desparate months, Spitfire or not ... we may all have been speaking German now and drinking frothy lager and unspeakably bad wine!
Owen has posted pics of some good builds, so if you are up for it, and you are sure you have the time, I think you would make a brilliant GB leader. I would offer myself, but TBH with work and small child, it is all I can do to get a few hours here and there to splash a bit of paint around. |

Seeing as there is enough interest in an Airfix Hurricane Group Build already, I have set up a poll for the starting date vote on Owen's behalf.
I have also set up a Hurricane Group Build Forum for all further discussions on the build. You will need to sign up to the Group Build via the Usergroups section in order to access the forum.
If you wish to take part in the Group Build, click on the Usergroups link at the top of the page. Then:
Select "Group Build Participants - Hurricane"
Click "View Information"
Click on "Join Group".
If you do not wish to take part in the actual Group Build itself but want to watch progress and discuss the Group Build, click on the Usergroups link at the top of the page. Then:
Select "View - Group Build - Hurricane"
Click "View Information"
Click on "Join Group".
That's all there is to it!

With two aircraft Group Builds starting next month and a B26 Marauder likely to start in November, I'm not sure if another aircraft GB will prove to be popular just yet. Having said that, if enough people are up for a Spitfire build, then there is no problem with it going ahead. I won't be taking part myself as I have just finished building a 1/48 Spitfire.
You will need to carry out a poll to see if anyone want to join you in a Spitfire GB. And remember you will have to lead the Group Build as you nominated it.
