oh dear i still havent got used to this interweb thing, i thought i had subscribed to the Devastator GB and then found out it was the 1/24 GB!!!
what should i do? press the "unsubscribe" button or go onto MFS and see what Vince has to offer?

well my first ever GB will be the Airfix Hurricane mk1 AA14002.
just one quick question, i intend to build this OOB but is it ok to base the camo/colour on the Hurri being rebulit at Brooklands?

So long as the basic plastic is from an Airfix box you can finish it however you like

Was this a genuine accident or will you be taking part (you've stumped me!)? It doesn't matter if you don't want to join in the fun, I can remove this thread with no foibles!

Or, if you're staying, good choice! The rules for GB engagment (IIRC) are that the finished kit must be a minimum of 50% Airfix, so a change in livery/camo/decals, or the use of aftermarket parts isn't a problem

right guys question time, this will be my first 1/24 build so hope you can help?
1. what would you recommend, enamels or acrylics?
2. would someone be able to sort out the correct decals for this particular Hurricane.(ie. the brooklands one) i will of course be happy to cover all costs.
3. would i be able to use my "cheap airbrush" (revell £20 jobbie) for the camo and underside.
thanks in advance.

1. Personally I prefer enamels
2. What are these decals of which you speak    Have you looked on Hannants
3. You should be able to use your "cheap airbrush"

If Hannants don't stock them, they're probably not available commercially in 1/24

ok here we go , i am a bit worried i might i might have bitten off a tad more than i can chew, didnt realize it was going to be this big, was thinking about spraying it in some shape or form, but now i am thinking about using a brush, not sure if that will do it justice though, i think i will just see how it goes

didnt bother with all the sprue shots as so many bits had fallen off them anyway

No, not new, looks as if they've decided to use the original as opposed to the 'PC' version.

The dreaded brown decal backing!

That's what crossed my mind too - I hope you don't have problems with them Nailbiting

Best of luck though, I'm sure you'll do it justice.

The brown decals seem to break up with the slightest touch when ever I use them
