Came across this strange object whilst on holiday recently, wondered if you Airfix chaps would like to guess what it is:

I'll post the answer (a photo of the identification plate) once we have some contenders. Wild speculation is welcome, the more Dalek related the better :)

Looks a lot like something based on a Gruson Fahrpanzer or an Alan Williams Turret.....except the round "door" and the turret isn´t as dalek like as a Fahrpanzer or the Alan Williams Turret. It´s a gun turret for sure....but what

Looks like some sort of mini pill box.

It´s bugging me now... :)
The shape of the turret bit looks similar to that of a Char 1 or suoma ..but I can´t place it !!!!

Found one..easter Island, Midway Atoll
http://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-world- ... 23087.html
Now I´ve found it (it´s an "instant Pillbox" hence the carrying lugs) but everywhere it says "obsolete World War I tank turrets "
https://www.fws.gov/refuge/Midway_Atoll ... llbox.html
Which "obsolete World War I tank " had turrets like that?

So that´s the one in the US Army Museum of Hawaii
https://www.tripadvisor.com/LocationPho ... awaii.html
The Quotes I found that the turrets are re-constituted WWI ones were a bit misleading..they were specifically manufactured for purpose
