I have three kits that fit the Bill -

Airfix Handley Page Halifax III
Airfix 'G for George' Lancaster
Airfix BoBMF Lancaster

G for George or the Halifax III will probably be built.

Hi Owen

Please do the Halifax , no one ever makes Halifax's anymore in the magazines. I remember making one as a kid in that black plastic that always seemed to melt too easily when you put the cement on it.

I've made a start on the Halifax. Sprue/Decal Shots don't seem necessary as there are others building the same kit in the GB. My parts seem to carry quite a lot of flash and ejector pin marks, but nothing a bit of fillers and a No.11 can't fix.

So far I've constructed the cockpit. The clear parts have had one dipping of Klear. The cockpit needs painting Black (H33) and the transparencies need inserting, along with the turrets. I have chosen to omit the crew.

Slowly and Steady. I'm a little busy at the moment with Coursework etc at School, so this obviously takes prority. Chances are I won't finish for the deadline (likewise with the RNLI Build).

I've cleaned up the turrets a little. The cockpit has also been fully painted. There didn't seem to be much point in adding any detail as the transparencies are pretty thick.

I got this back out today and have started a bit more work on it. Fuselage is now together with glazing fitted. I've now made a start on the tailplanes.

This build came to a grinding halt since the last post. I have been very busy with other priorities, but this has been staring at me at the workbench since the last post back in.... December

I finally got round to finding some Wet&Dry paper and sanding down the filler. Most of it looks alright, just a couple of spots that need a retouch. I want to get it ready for the weekend as I am hoping to spray it, but knowing what happens when I try and stick a schedule there is probably a fat chance of that happening!

Stay tuned for the next update in.... July
