It had to happen sooner or later, I guess.  The internet has failed me.  I googled "Hobby Boss P-40B" and two of the top search results specified that the kit has a "strange error" regarding the windscreen.  Supposedly, the windscreen should have framing and the Hobby Boss kit doesn't have it and this is a "strange error."

Well, I just accepted this and didn't pick up one of the Hobby Boss P-40B/C kits even though I want to build a collection of Flying Tigers and I'm not going to get it done with the old Academy or FROG kits... so, I was a little depressed about this "error."

Except that it's not an error.  The P-40B/C had no framing on the outside.   I did a search over at Hyperscale and found a couple of lengthy discussions on the topic.  The final verdict was an emphatic NO FRAMES ON WINDSCREEN--just as the Hobby Boss kit depicts it.  In fact, my current model of the P-40B, which is an Academy kit with a FROG windscreen-- now looks like it has, in fact, a "strange error."

The trouble is, the wrong information STILL shows up if you do a google search, and it has the makings of an urban legend-- wrong info that is going to be quoted and repeated over and over and over again.
