I've just sent off 30 and £3 for 2 kits having first checked that all were in stock on the website.

Should this improve the turnaround time or is it more a function of the backlog?

I sent for two kits the week before Christmas and they arrived well within the 28 days delivery time.

Im still awaiting some from end of  november taking payment out of account within a week, but the kits werent avaliable when they should have been (hurricane IIc and bucc), so i presume now that they are they will be on their way.

I asked Airfix about this on behalf of the ATF.

Airfix have introduced a new stock picking system, so the turnaround time should improve. To aid this, check the stock level on the website and put kits on the list which show as in stock. If you request kits which haven't been released or are out of stock, the passport will be held until they are available. Including several alternate kits in your request will help.

I picked only those that were listed as in stock so hopefully that will speed things up.

Last time I redeemed any was about 3 years ago and then you just had to guess!

This has got to be a record.....sent off 30 flying hours on MONDAY
and got my kits TODAY !!!!

Only problem is this ( we are never happy are we ?!!)

I put down two kits which where supposedly in stock (got two email notifications to say the Bucc and the Widgeon where in stock) only to go to the Airfix site after I had sent the flying hours off , to see "out of stock "

No worries ...Ill get the alternatives...Canberra PR9 and a Spity 9 or 19 = 30 hours.
Opened up the packet only to find a Red Arrows Hawk and a Spity 9 = 20 hours
Bit miffed losing out on 10 flying hours. Wonder if Ill get em back ??
Will see if I can get an answer via email.......eventually  :D

Andy

PS The Bucc is now in stock on the Airfix site

That doesnt seem right at all.  Ive just got a answerphone message to say that my 4.50 cheque needs to be reduced to a 3 quid one.  Which means if my options at the time were correct that a bucc and a hurri IIc are on their way (30 pts), or something completely different.  Shall give old Tanya a call monday morning to confirm what im getting before i sent the amended cheque  :)

I ordered in April and they turned up in August.

I know they must have been busy and I appreciate that they're giving the kits away, but it was a smidgeon longer than I would have expected. Still, I am happy with the kits received.

Hey all

Sent off on last Wednesday 20 flying hours for Buccaneer (prefered choice) or a choice from Spitfire XIX, Hurricane IIc or Bloodhound.  Today a nice large box from Hornby with a Buccaneer inside exactly one week brilliant service :D .
