One of my favourite Sci Fi vehicles - well, I am a Anderson fan I suppose  :D

This Imai kit is nothing more than a toy, so I junked all the working features, rebuilt the track mechanism, added the correct number of wheels, and other details. Put it on a little vignette base.

Hope it looks something like the wonderful models used in the original shows  :)

That looks great, landyshah! :Clapping:  I got some Captain Scarlett things off ebay a while ago.  My wife thinks I am just a big kid!  NONSENSE!  :dummy:

That's just great. I was very jealous of my cousin's Corgi SPV in the 70s :)

That would have been a Dinky SPV, Brews.

Another excellent build, Landyshah. Imai did a whole series of these Captain Scarlet kits.

That looks fantastic.  I have the same kit in the stash and would like to do much the same as you have done here (i.e., junk all the "toy" features and "accurise" it).  I'd be happy to do half as well as you have here!

SIG everyone!  :D

It is rather bad as a kit, needs helluva lot of work..and the "toy" plastic is very hard to cut or do anything with. But then, its the only kit of the thing which can reasonably be found.

The main problem is the running gear, rear tracks and open air chassis....it needs to be rebuilt to look convincing. The other option might be get a die cast one, and improve on it....

Don't suppose by any chance you have plans or drawings detailing the modifications neccessary to bring this thing up to spec?

Superb job. :thumb:
I have one of these and I can see how much you've really improved it from being a toy to a model.

All of the superlatives have been used above, I can only agree. Absolutely great model particularly given the original kit's issues.  :notworthy:

 I might,

I have the red car too, is it Capt Scarlet's? I've forgotten what its called. Its very basic. Needs a lot of work too to make it a model rather than a toy.

Edit:
I found the car; its the 'Patrol Car'.  I thought it had a fancier name than that.
And I found I also have a double set - the patrol car and SPV - but the two are on the rather small side.

I'll get that for you as soon as I can Ratch. I need to go through the stash boxes to find it.

Edit:
I found it. Code number is: B-2027-3200
