Just to get the ball rolling here are some Lee/Grant links that may prove either useful or interesting to those taking part in this build.

1st up good old wikipedia’s page

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M3_Lee

A page from Digger History

http://www.diggerhistory.info/pages-armour/allied/grant.htm

The next link features an interesting data sheet

http://www.wwiiequipment.com/grant.aspx

More info here

http://www.battletanks.com/new_page_3.htm

http://www.battletanks.com/new_page_14.htm

From the Israeli Armour site, a nice picture of a Grant

http://www.davidpride.com/Israeli_Armor/IL_Armor_04_298.htm

A couple of nice Lee pictures here

http://www.3ad.com/history/wwll/mischnick.pages/lee.tank.htm

Some interior shots for all of the super detailers out there

http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67176

Cheers

A couple of pictures that I took of the Imperial War Museum Grant whilst on one of the JBOs.

A nice view of the turret top for anyone wishing to detail or indeed change the Airfix kit.

A very blurry 3/4 view of the tank (strange this is before we went to the pub ), you can see the counter weight on the barrel of the main gun, another detail that could be added to the Airfix kit

A couple of interior shots for anyone feeling really ambitious

This is actually on a Sherman but shows the type of bogie used on the Lee/Grant and interestingly two different types of wheel.

An idea for a small diorama

Cheers

The counterweight would not be on all guns. Point of note, some early Shermans had the counterweight (on the shorter, M2, 75mm).

Quite true Brews, it will not be a feature of my build.
