I made a few small scale ME110s when I was a kid. i was just wondering if there are any large scale builds of this plane anybody recommends. preferably 1/48 to 1/24 scale.
haven't made one of these babies in 25yrs got the urge to do a night fighter or late war interceptor build again.
cheers

Hi PubZombie...
I believe the Revell kit is a good one. It comes as a G-2 (I think) and looks really nice from what I have seen of it. It is in 1/48th Scale, and I believe Revell may also have produced a 1/32 version a few years ago, but it is now quite rare and goes for many pounds. Your other option is the Dragon kit. This was recently released as a C-3, and I believe this will probably turn up as a D/E/G model some time soon. The drawback of this kit is its 80 quid price tag! _________________ "Is there anything you else you need to win the battle?" "Jawohl, Herr Reichsmarshall- Give me a squadron of Spitfires!" |

| The Eduard 1/48 110 seems to be well thought of, and is now available as a Weekend Edition (no resin or etch and only one colour scheme) |

Revell also reissued their old 1:23 Bf 110D last year or the year before for a very modest $24USD. Their 1:48 Bf 110 is in G2 or G4 form, depending on the boxing. It has some inaccuracies, but is good value. Fujimi have an old 1:48 C/D that comes with Dachelbach. You can get a True Details cockpit to dress it up a little. _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |

No offence to my southern neighbours, but I think that maybe Bayerische Flugzeugwerke is too hard to pronounce for Americans. Anything after the Bf 110 was a Messerschmitt (Me 210, Me 410, Me 163, Me 262 etc), so why complicate things and let's call the Messerschmitt Bf 109 and Bf 110 "Me 109" and "Me 110" too..

Jeeze spoilt for choice looking at quality. I must say the dragon kit looks sweet but is a bit pricey. will do a bit of research to see wich one gets most bang for my buck spose.#cheers guys _________________ Airfix is the continuation of war with the admixture of other means |

I can only assume the Americans had to find somewhere to use the m & e from the proper spelling of programme. _________________ Pax Britannica

It's not a commentary on intelligence rather than the effect of mass usage of something that's incorrect being incorporated into common language.
The French have a similar issue as they try to keep English words out of their language (Franglais).
I know you meant Canuck, by the way, not canunk, but therein lies another possible example. If enough of your countrymen started calling Canadians "canunks", then that would be, by default, the new way to spell and pronounce it. Like "Cajun" is a corruption of "Canadian" - but I wonder how many people make that connection now? Anyway, this is _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill

It's definitely a lot of plastic in 1:32. The 1:72 Bf 110G is a re-pop of the FROG kit.
I got a 1:32 Bf 110 circa 1988 for $20 from Hobbyco on George St, Sydney. I got a 1:32 Bf 110C/D from Squadron last year for $24USD or so! It doesn't take much work to make them look good, but if you want your work made easy, I guess you'd just buy the Dragon. I mentioned at a model club meeting, to a guy who was given a Dragon kit to review, that it would be interesting to build the Dragon AND the Revell, to make side-by-side comparisons. He said "why would you bother?". So, ok, I would bother, but obviously not everyone would want to do that _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |

I like to see how different kits go together, rather than just the 'best' one, otherwise how do you know for sure which is the best and why it is the best.? _________________ Pax Britannica

"Best" is subjective for sure.
For me, a lot of weight is applied to price However, if it's something that I just HAVE to have, the price becomes less important. _________________ “The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” Winston Churchill |

Not a grammar/spelling purist then...
I believe the Allies referred to Bf110 and Bf109 with the prefix 'Me' throughout the war, and therefore it may be considered to be an English name rather like Cologne (Köln) or Munich (München) - not wrong, just different. |

Aww now you've gone and spoilt it with common sense (we all knew that really). Even in reference books it is quite often written Me ......... it's just me, me, me, every time ! _________________ Pax Britannica
