A pain of a build , soapy plastic and mis-aligned parts galore . However looks the part when complete .
Painted with grey auto primer with xtracrylix nightblack wing panels .Kleared then satin varnish.

Loved this from AMW a few months ago, would look extra good with a dark wash to bring out all the detail :)

Thanks for the feedback . I thought about a wash but the panel lines don't join up everywhere and I considered that the Empire would have had plenty of erks to keep the big mans ride all clean and buffed . Hence no weathering!

Nice build of a difficult kit. I like the colour, too; I've seen some painted with a grey that's more blue, which matches the original effects model, but not the on-screen appearance, which is much more of a match for the 'pure' grey you've used.

I sense a presence.... The grey is Hycote automotive primer from motorsave i think £5 a can . Goes on nice and level with a good surface finish .

My rendition of this kit. As stated elsewhere, more filler than I would have liked, plus the fit of parts was poor with one wing higher than the other (unless it's supposed to be like that), plus numerous parts with copious amounts of flash on them. A bit of a challenge with what one at first glance would think was a fairly easy kit. Anyhow it's finished now, pics below:

Finished as a worn example after battle.......well that's my excuse anyway

Heh, built one these back in the day when they first came out...didn't bother to paint it, but coloured in the black areas with a magic marker!...
These are much better!

cheers,
Robin.
