I am currently watching a Revell Mercury Atlas on e-bay which is going for about £25, however, I can get a Realspace models Mercury atlas for around $25 in resin: the latter is bound to more accurate- any views on this?

Resin kits aren't everyone's cup of tea, it would appeal to a more limited market I guess, but there's no explaining the prices on eBay sometimes.

If I remember rightly the Revell Atlas is in an odd scale as well which put me off I must admit.

If you want nostalgia and 1/110 scale model of the Atlas on its launch site, get the Revell kit. For accuracy, get the 1/144 RealSpace kit. Realspace also have a 1/72 Mercury Atlas, but its a bit expensive at $75.

Must admit that launch pad is a draw but I'm assuming that's a box size scale.
