I think my non-stop badgering may finally have paid off:

http://www.smallscaleafvforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=31233#31233

I love Modelltrans!  :notworthy:

I really hope this happens.....The kits probably won't exactly be cheap, but they should be very detailed and quite easy to build, if Modelltrans' other stuff is anything to go by:

I thought Modeltrans did resin kits, saw a lovely Comet and Lynx at Bovington today...

Thought you weren't too keen on resin kits? I have only got Millicast and Verliden kits in resin white metal for me at the moment!

I've already got a couple of Modelltrans resin kits and they are a whole degree of difficulty less complex than say the Wespe or MarS kits in my collection, in fact they aren't quite as fiddly as the Extratech 1/72 Challenger with its etched-brass tracks.  There are already two resin and etch 1/72 Luchs kits in production from KORA, but these are fiddly in the exteme and horrendously overpriced.

First pictures of the Modelltrans Modellbau 1/72 Pz.II Ausf L 'Luchs' prototype are up on the 'ML Braille DG', here:

I'm so happy!  :D

Armory too have decided to release a 1/72 resin Luchs:

http://www.network54.com/Forum/47210/message/1247601447/Panzer+IF+%26amp%3B+Panzer+IIL+%26quot%3BLuchs%26quot%3B++from+Armory

This one looks a little more sophisticated then the Modelltrans version and is probably more of a display model than anything you would want to play with.  :?

I'll be buying both!  :P

For what it's worth & all the best
Sgt.S
PS - The Armory 'Little-Tiger' looks great too!  8-)

It seems that it is now possible to pre-order the Modelltrans Luchs direct from the manufacturer, follow this thread for more info:

http://www.network54.com/Forum/47210/message/1249924055/Any+news+on+the+Pz.II+Ausf+L-

I'm a happy munkey!  :D

All the best

You know what a 17pdr would do to it ... or a 6pdr for that matter ... or a PTRD even :)

Yeah but it could be long gone before that though, gotta love recon tanks.

Anyway only 100 were built so the chances of encountering one on the batlefield were relatively marginal.

Roll on the Comet, I need something in 1.72 to replace my Matchbox and Millicast ones, must order some '77mm' gun barrells too, who does these in 1.72 brass?

How many have you ordered Sarge - 4?

Pretty sure that Schatton Modellbau 17pdr barrels will do the trick. You just have to insert them deeper into the mantlet to shorten them, just like the real thing.

Milicast distribute Schatton in the UK. I got one of their barrels at Telford 3 yrs ago.

Cheers Brews, is the muzzle brake on the '77mm' and the 17lb the same?

Modelltrans' master for their PzII Ausf L can be seen here:

http://modelltrans.blogspot.com/

Looks a lot simpler than the Armoury kit.
