I think the weathering looks good, like it´s really been used. :thumb:  :thumb:  :thumb:

that looks great, weathering great, especially the chipped paint effect on the front - how did you do that?

cheers

To chip the paint I painted the main colour (gloss white) then after it had dried I just dabbed some Maskol (or similar) onto the model using a small bit of old scouring pad, in the placed where the red was going to be, ten sprayed the red (in this case though I sprayed Revell rust over the first application of Maskol, then added a little more, and the sprayed the red). When all was dried, simply rub the Maskol off with your finger. This has the effect of chipping the paint down to the base but also chipping it just as far a a primer coat

Woahh, these picture are much better than the printed one you showed me!

I think the weathering is fine; this viper is in need of maintenance as it runs a little hot? Another model that makes me think I’m going to have to invest in an airbrush eventually. Nice one.

Well I did invest in the model and an airbrush. Nice fit but the decals seem a little brittle to me. Thanks to Chadders for the tip on paint chipping and to use the yellow wing decals on the red stripe not the decals designed for your own painted stripes (they are so transparent they vanish!).
Here’s my take on the viper.

Excellent builds.

I want to get one or two of these at some point, plus the Raptor.

As you can see from my avatar, I'm a fan of the show and the Viper in particular :D

Moebius kit of BSG Viper Mk II - not a bad kit. Seeing I haven't seen the series I went for a cleaner but still slightly worn version of this kit. Seeing it came with a stand I built it gear up. Nice quick build with reasonable detail for a sci-fi project.
