Hi all this is my first dabble in at least 5 yrs, not great but I forgot how fun it is, and so much easier than modeling, a pencil and a bit of paper, I have so little time for modeling these days and I think this will help with the frustration.

Looking great!

But easy? I don't think so. But fun? Yes you are right on the spot.
25 years back I did paint and draw a great deal, but more or less gave it up when I got together with Annette.

Jesper.

Spectacular. I pity the hyena that tangles with that.

I used to Cake Decorate, (won awards too). It actually used to finance my Model making and other luxuries.

My 'old hobby' was stripping Corgi diecast and making up combinations of British Road Service vehicles, (BRS general haulage). I have two display cases full of them, since moving house I haven't really set up the facilities I previously had but I still have dozens of models to set to with if I ever feel so inclined.

Additional to my previous post, I have dug out a few pics.

Here are 4 of many cakes that I did. The F111 is actually a model kit, and was a Birthday Cake, for some-one who was/is in the RAAF. The Christening Cake, was for my Niece, who is now in her late 20's, (the cradle is icing). The Prussian Helmut was for one of my bosses, who is German, (I stirred him up immensely, a lovely guy who took it all in his stride), everything except the board, and the Candle, (which was moulded into the spike), is Icing. The Portrait, was for a customer, who wanted a Portrait of his Mother, it is done, on a Icing Plaque, and painted on in food colour. Unfortunately the eyesight, and hands aren't as good as they used to be, and have had to give it up.

That's a shame Mike, that was why I gave up tattooing (very lucrative but ruins the eyes) still you have the photos to remind you.

Jesper

Here are a few of what we call 'Code 3' where you alter a basic diecast model, be it a new body or paintwork. Hope you like.

They look good Ian, does that reduce or increase the value of them.

The vehicles look great Ian, what brand are they? I ruined my old Matchbox cars, that I have from childhood, by trying to paint them, (now worthless), but have several small collections, of collectable Di-cast, (Matchbox Ford A Model Vans, Yesteryear, and a OZ company called TRAX, which make models of old OZ cars). As kpnuts asked, does it affect the value?

Firstly they are primarily Corgi Diecast from their 1/50th range.

Values are what people are prepared to pay but usually sellers start with the basic price of the lorry itself, usually around the £15-£20 mark. Certain names are quite popular such as 'Pickfords' and 'BRS'. Circus Code 3's also seem to be very popular indeed, you only have to look on the E-bay site to see.
Manufacturers of decals offer a range of haulage companies from differing Era's so to answer the question 'Does it increase their value ? then the answer has to be YES.
