With Neil Armstrong passing recently, and a space GB overdue, after consulting with Steven I'm setting up a poll for a GB.

There are three options, the poll will be multichoice so you can vote for any or all the options you would participate in. The poll will run for 7 days.
The GB with the largest number of votes will happen in the near future (probably October).

1) Neil Armstrong Memorial GB. Commemorating the long and diverse career of Neil Armstrong, any of the aircraft or spacecraft that Neil flew or used on missions may be built, so long as the base kit is Airfix.

2) Neil Armstrong Apollo 11 GB. Commemorating the moon landing. Any Airfix kit of a spacecraft or aircraft used on this mission may be built.

3) NASA GB. Any spacecraft or aircraft used by NASA, so long as the base kit is Airfix.

Before I vote, which Airfix kits would be valid for the Neil Armstrong GB?

For the Neil Armstrong career GB, as he flew over 200 aircraft types, I think it would be up to the GB participant to find one they wanted to model which was available as an Airfix kit and could provide supporting evidence to make it admissible   . Unless anyone has a master list of the types he flew which could be cross-referenced with an Airfix kit list?

For a Neil Armstrong or Apollo 11 GB, these three Airfix kits can be used:

1/72 Sikorsky SH-3D Sea King (03010)
1/72 Lunar Module
1/144 Apollo Saturn V

Neil was a passenger of the Sea King, when he was picked up with Aldrin and Collins after returning to Earth. The Sea King was retooled into the HAR.3 (03043), but you might be able adapt this back into the SH-3D. Note that there are two early issues of the Sea King, an early one with "NAVY 63" and a latter one with "NAVY 66". Apollo 11 used NAVY 66. MPC also reissued this kit.

Neil also flew the F-104A, so that might be adapted from the Airfix F-104G. We have from

Looks like a general NASA GB has won through. Start date poll shortly, if there are any volunteers to be GB Leader drop me a pm.
